Boyce Wright

Mr. William Boyce Wright, 76, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Joseph W. Jones will officiate.

Born on February 5, 1950, in Crisp County, Boyce was the son of the late John James Wright and Mae Daniels Wright. He graduated from Albany High School in 1968 and graduated from Valdosta State University with a master’s degree in accounting. He worked as an independent CPA and was a professor at Albany State having taught accounting for 30 years. He also worked in the family business, Hughes Hardware in Albany, for several years. He enjoyed collecting guitars, music, going to concerts, and reading. Boyce was of the Christian faith and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Brooks Wright of Santa Rosa, FL; grandchildren, Raylee and Ashley; sister and caregivers, Elise Hughes and Fussell of Albany; brother, Johnny Wright and Linda of Leesburg; niece, Julia; nephew, Brian; and his devoted caregiver, Kathy Jackson; and his former wife, JoAnn Wright.
