Mr. William James Ragan, 82, of Sylvester, peacefully passed away into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Fairview Hospital, in Dublin.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County. Rev. Jackie Cabiness will officiate and the family will visit with friends following the service.
Born on April 12, 1942, Mr. Ragan was the son of the late Charlie and Helen Strickland Ragan. He served his country in The United States Army and retired after many years as plant manager of Flint Industrial Services. He enjoyed remote control boat racing, hunting, and fishing. He was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church for many years and will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved the Lord.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Jean Ragan of Sylvester; children, Sherry Jean Tarrer and Marvin of Lee County, Jennifer Gayle Croft of San Diego, CA, Douglas Keith Croft, Cheryl of Lee County, Shane Hancock and Tonya of Worth County, and Donna Michelle Holden and Glenn of Sylvester; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Jude or Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
