Mr. William “Bill” Lee White, 86, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Lee County. Rev. Charles McCardle and Mr. Scott Price will officiate with interment to follow in the Arlington Cemetery, in Arlington, GA. at 2:30 p.m.
Born on July 28, 1939, in Early County, Bill was the son of the late Arthur White, Sr. and Maude Dykes White. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and after graduating he served in the Army National Guard. He worked as a bread man for Flowers Baking Company and then worked as a boiler maker and pipe fitter union. In 1970 he established two restaurants in Blakely, and in 1977 he moved to Albany where he established White’s Seafood Market and L&S Seafood Market. In 1997 he opened and operated White’s Seafood and Barbeque Restaurant of Albany where many families enjoyed wonderful food and excellent service under his leadership. He maintained a strong catering and restaurant equipment business up until his final days. A fish fry and a day spent with family and friends was most dear to him. He was known as a hardworking man who gave many an opportunity to work and was a dear friend who never met a stranger. He was a faithful member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Lee County and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Ella McCollum White; his former wife and mother of his children, Ruby Roney Dell; son, William Chet White and 10 siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, William Keith White and Dianne of Leesburg, Robbin White Lamb of Worth County, Yonnie Price and Scott of Albany, Eric Lee White and Kim of Panama City, FL, and Becky Anglin Duke and Tracy of Columbia, AL; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home of Leesburg.
The family would like to express their appreciation to his nephew, Roger Cook, and his grandsons, BJ, Jacob, and Daniel Lamb for providing care during Mr. Bill’s illness.
