Vivian Storey Mercer

Mrs. Vivian Storey Mercer, 84, of Albany and formerly of Tifton, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Born on January 11, 1941, in Anniston, AL, Mrs. Mercer was the daughter of the late Crawford and Gladys Turner Storey. She worked for many years for the Tift County Board of Education where she oversaw the dietary department. She enjoyed cooking for her family, drinking her coffee, and sewing. She loved all her family and especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Lord, was Pentecostal by faith, and a member of The Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Floyd Mercer, Jr. and several siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, April Schluckebier and her husband, Pastor Matthew Schluckebier of Albany, and Renee Sizemore of Albany; 3 grandchildren, Lauren McClellan, Adah Grace Schluckebier, and Lakin Sizemore; 3 great-grandchildren, Reagan, Ross Thomas, and Caiden; twin sister, Lillian Radford of Tifton, sister, Wanda Spires and Darwin of Enigma; two brothers, Scotty Storey and Mariann of Tifton, and Ronnie Storey and Pam of Tifton; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will have a service of remembrance at a later date.
