Tommy "Tom" Lee Bruce

Mr. Tommy Lee “Tom” Bruce, 67, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Phoebe North. A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2022, at the VFW, 315 Philema Rd, Albany, GA 31701. Born on September 21, 1954, in Ironton, OH, Tom was the son of the late Lloyd G. Bruce and Alma Jean Bailey Bruce. He loved his country and served in The United States Marine Corps. He then spent 29 years with the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. He was president of The Blue Knights GA 3, was a member of The American Legion and loved to ride his motorcycle. He was a kind and giving soul that loved each year providing Christmas to children that were less fortunate. More than anything he loved his family and was of the Christian faith. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Bruce. Survivors include his beloved wife, Rebecca Bruce of Leesburg; children, Tommy Lee Bruce II of Athens, AL, Laura Laviano and Jamie of Leesburg, and Aaron Robinson of Leesburg; brother, Ed Bruce and Deloris of Marysville, OH; daughter-in-law, Deidra Bruce; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he deeply loved and adored, and niece and nephews.
