Thomas Edward Duponte

Thomas Edward DuPonte, 21, of Leesburg, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Harrell officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. He was born July 10, 2000, in Camilla, to his parents Mary Anne Carter and Christopher E. DuPonte Jr. Thomas had a love and passion for animals and was currently employed at the Albany Humane Society where he worked as a supervisor. In his free time, he could be found skateboarding with his friends, writing songs, or drawing. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Edward Wood; and two of his uncles, Larry Wood and James Wood. Survivors include his mother, Mary Anne Carter of Leesburg; father, Christopher E. DuPonte Jr. of Hawaii; sister, Kristen DuPonte of Leesburg; grandparents, Marsha McCarty Weaver of Camilla, and Christopher L. DuPonte Sr. and Beverly DuPonte of Baconton; Aunts, Mia Farrow (Robbie) of Vidalia, Nicole DuPonte Jones of Leesburg; Uncles, Gary Wood (Angela) of Pelham, Ryan Ortiz of Baconton; cousins, Mackenzie and Maddie; and a host of extended family and friends that loved him dearly. Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the DuPonte family.
