Shannon Melissa Jackson

Shannon Melissa Jackson, 49, of Baconton, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Pheobe Putney Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Turner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Shannon was born on March 30, 1977, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to the late Randall K. Jackson and Angela Knight Jackson, who survives. She worked for many years with the United States Postal Service. Shannon had a special love for crafting and spent many happy hours shopping at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Walmart in search of the perfect materials for her projects, including jewelry and home décor pieces that she enjoyed creating. She also found joy in playing the “Ding-Ding Machine” and trying her luck with scratch-off games at her local store. Above all, Shannon loved her family and was happiest when spending time with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Angela K. Jackson; daughter, Brooklyn Burgess; brother Brandon Jackson and Jennifer; her aunts, Amy Jackson, Aubrey Sadders, Amanda Baily and Clayton, Sherry Aubrey and Sabrina, and Debra Pollock; uncle, Windell Knight; nephews, Grayson Moore and Abby, Landon Moore and Sam, and Colton Jackson; her special friend John Collins; her precious fur baby Romeo, whom she loved greatly; and a host of cousins and extended family members and friends.

Along with her father she was preceded in death by her sister Kimberly Nicole Jackson.
