Rosa Pearl Hamby

Mrs. Rosa Pearl Hamby, 90, of Dawson, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the Parrott Cemetery, in Parrott. Rev. Bobby Paul will officiate, and the family will visit with friends following the service.

Born on May 5, 1933, in Terrell County, Mrs. Hamby was the daughter of the late Claude Fletcher, Sr. and Pearl Powell Fletcher. She was a loving homemaker that deeply loved all of her family and made sure her home and family were cared for. She was affectionately known as "Doll" by her late husband, Jack Hamby, Jr. of 56 years. She was passionate about her flowers and spent many hours working diligently in her yard. Mrs. Hamby was a member of Sasser Methodist Church and was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Connie Kearns and Robert, Jackie Busby and Doug and Kevin Hamby and Penny all of Dawson, GA; 6 grandchildren, Kayla (Cedrick Butler), Kevin, Devin (Alaina McClung), Shane (Julie), Lorie (Russell), Nick (Amanda); and 19 great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Aubrey, Ava, Anna Grace, Sara Beth, Rosa Kay, Emma Jane, Gabe, Taylor, Mackenzie, Olivia, Addison, Ashlyn, Luke, Dusty, Levi, London, Cameron, and Preston.

Flowers will be graciously accepted, or donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Mrs. Hamby at 3 International Drive Suite 200, Rye Brook, New York, 10573.
