Mr. Ronald Arthur Lagg, 62, of Oviedo, FL, passed away on May 29, 2026, unexpectedly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Joseph W. Jones will officiate.
Born on June 27, 1963, in St. Petersburg, FL, to the late Harold and Mary Ellen Lagg. He graduated from Ft. Myers High School and attended Florida State University and Florida Southern College, graduating in 1996. He was a band director and music educator in several schools in Florida. Before his passing he was currently working on his master’s in music. Ron had a unique personality and as his daughter put it, he was a goof ball and enjoyed making others laugh. He simply never met a stranger and was always full of life. His passion was music and loved to play the tuba. He maintained a relationship with many of his former students throughout the years. He played at his church and several concert bands. Ron loved watching old movies and was an avid Star Wars fan. He was a member of The Luthern faith. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin and friend will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Geraldine McGorey; uncle, Clayton Babcock; nephew, Michael E. Byrd and his cousin, Ronald McGorey.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Connor Lagg of Auburndale, FL; bonus daughter, Brittany Watson and Luke of Kennewick, WA; grandchildren, Dallace, Derek, Sarah, Emily, Alli and Lilli; his beloved sister that he was very close to, Sandra Watson of Leesburg; nephews, David Byrd and Penny of Leesburg, Adam Jenkins and Aron of Leesburg; nieces, Michelle Spence and Mark of Leesburg, and Tiffany Riggle and Matt of Albany; his aunt, Phyllis Babcock of Rockford Michigan, several Michigan cousins that he loved and his dog, Boogie.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Lee County Animal Shelter, 101 Mossy Dell Rd. Leesburg, GA. 31763.
