Mrs. Mary Barbara Watson, 73, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday morning, October 29, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Services honoring the life of Mrs. Watson will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home in Leesburg. Rev. Thomas Julian Watson, Jr. and Mr. Eddie Watson will officiate. Born October 25, 1943 in Alabama, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Ollice Franks and Novella Bearden Sklow. She owned Barbara Watson’s Alterations in Lee County for many years and worked for H Davis and Sons Clothing Store in Albany. She enjoyed reading, camping, but most of all she loved her grandbabies. She was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Julian Watson, Sr. who was a 22 year heart transplant survivor and brother, Houston Franks. Survivors include her children, Tina Watson Aumsbaugh (Dennis) of Leesburg, Rev. Thomas “Buddy” Julian Watson, Jr. (Lori) of Kennesaw, GA. and William “Billy” Odell Watson (Melinda) of Leesburg; brother in law, Eddie Watson (Denise) of Leesburg; sisters-in-law, Pennie Erickson and Travis McDonald both of Leesburg; grandchildren, Tracy, Joanne, Mark, Matthew, Dell, Tiffany, Suzy, Dalton and Nick; great-grandchildren, Mark, Zoey, Ann and Kennedy and her dog that she loved, Thumper. The family will be at Mrs. Watson’s home at 111 Westfield Rd. Leesburg, GA. 31763 and will also receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
