Mrs. Mary Ann Taylor, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at her home. She was born Mary Ann Gordon in Rochelle Georgia on May 17, 1934 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Everett Gordon. She attended the Wilcox county school system and graduated in 1953 from Wilcox County High School in Rochelle. She met John A. Taylor during her High school years and continued to date until marriage. After graduation, she entered the Armstrong school for nursing in Savannah Ga. where she completed two and a half years. Mary Ann Gordon married John A. Taylor January 2, 1955 six months after he entered the Navy for a full-time career. She relinquished her nursing career to become a full-time mother and home-maker. Mary Ann Taylor gave birth to eight children: Johnny, Debra Sue, Billy, Patricia, Mike, Brian, Ricky and Paul. She is survived by her husband John A. of 63 years; children, Billy, Patricia, Mike, Ricky, and Paul; Brother Charles Gordon and Sister Jane Holland and their spouses; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, along with many nephews and nieces. She placed her faith in Jesus Christ alone for her salvation and will be waiting for her family in heaven. Her memorial will be held at 3 PM at Kinchafoonee Baptist Church, 219 West Century Rd., Leesburg, Ga. The family will visit with friends following the service at the church.
