Lauren Alinna Swain, NP

Lauren Alinna Swain NP, 36, of Leesburg, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Piedmont Healthcare, in Columbus.

Born on November 30, 1989, in Columbus at the same hospital that she passed away at, Lauren was a devoted medical professional who cared for her patients with much concern and dedication. For a while she served as a flight nurse based out of Camilla and in addition spent most of her medical career at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center where she served as a Nurse Practitioner. In August 2025, Lauren was recognized as Phoebe Sumter's Advance  Practice Provider of the year. In her free time, she greatly enjoyed reading, traveling, and cruising. She also greatly liked good food, art, and a variety of music. She loved all animals and cared for many in her lifetime. She was a spiritual, loving and caring soul who will always be cherished in our hearts.

Lauren was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, JW Swain.

Those left to cherish her memory include her fiancé, Casey Wright of Leesburg; her son who she adored, Carter Ross Wright of Leesburg; mother, Charlotte Swain of Albany; father, David Ross Swain of Leesburg; maternal grandmother, Irmgard Smith of Pine Mountain Valley; paternal grandmother, Emmie Alice Milner of Leesburg; aunts, Heidi Smith and, Jan Roth; and cousin, Josh and Misty Roth and their children, Tyler and Jake.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Joseph W. Jones officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.

The family wishes to extend their condolences to all of those who are hurting and missing Lauren in this time of sorrow. Your love, concern, prayers and support mean more to them the words could ever convey.

In lieu of flowers the family will set up an account at a local bank to help with the future expenses of her beloved son, Carter Ross Wright. Those details will be updated here on the obituary as soon as available.
