Mr. Kinney “Ken” William Carder, 76, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Wednesday night with his beloved family by his side.
Born on February 12, 1950, in San Antonio, TX, Ken was the son of the late John and Mildred Eckert Carder. After graduation he received his master’s in education and taught for a year at David Crockett Junior High School. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corp and retired from the Marine Corps Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then also retired from civil service in 2015 from the Marine Corps Logistics Base of Albany. He loved bass fishing, the east Tennessee Mountains where he lived for a while and attending to his roses in his yard. He always kept a beautiful yard and greatly enjoyed decorating his yard for Christmas. He was a man of faith who was a Christian and devoted his life to loving his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 51 years, Virginia Carder; children, Clint Carder and Margie, and Courtney Carder Paulson and Dan all of Leesburg; 4 grandchildren that he adored, Griffin, Talley, Makenna, and Connor; and his brother, Pat Carder and Sandy of Williamsburg, VA.
The family will have a private service honoring his life.
