Kelly Isaiah Johnson

Mr. Kelly Isaiah Johnson, 65, of Dawson, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 14, 2026, in Leesburg at his nephew’s home.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Thundering Springs Cemetery of Lee County. Rev. Pete Daughtry will officiate, and the family will visit with friends following the service.

Born on April 30, 1961, in Albany, Kelly sold newspapers as a young boy to help his mother support his siblings. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed serving as a substitute teacher at Byne Christian School. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle until a crimpling accident left him with multiple injuries which he suffered from until his death. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a member of Albany Bible Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Henrietta Bailey Paul of Leesburg; siblings, Wendy Laramore of Albany, Wendell Johnson of California, William Doyle Johnson of Navada, and Teresa Merchant of Warwick; special nephew that was more like a son, Robbie Pickard and Missy of Leesburg; special aunt, Patricia Ann Bessey of Dawson, several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family that he loved.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father, William Fraser Johnson and one infant sibling.
