Jo Ann Wright

JoAnn Bray Wright, 73, of Albany GA, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Services honoring her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church with Father Kyle Mackey officiating.

Born February 6, 1952, in Richmond Virginia, JoAnn was the daughter of the late Cecil and Louise Harrison Bray. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a master’s degree in education and retired as Assistant Principal with the Worth County Board of Education after 30 years in the school system. She loved her granddaughters and especially watching them play softball, the beach, and was an avid reader. JoAnn was a member of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, the Albany Garden Club, the Kiwanis Club, and a tutor with WhizKids. She was outgoing and greatly enjoyed socializing with friends and liked to travel. She loved the Lord and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Brooks Wright of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; 2 granddaughters, Raylee Wright of Santa Rosa Beach, and Ashley Paramore of Worth Co.; sister, Emily Holland of Virgina Beach, VA; 2 brothers, Cecil Bray, Jr. of Richmond, VA and Mark Bray of Norfolk, VA; nephew, Will Holland; Boyce Wright and the Wright/Hughes family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
