James Frederick Blanford

Mr. James Frederick Blanford, 79, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation.

Born on September 15, 1946, in Terre Haute, IN, Mr. Blanford was the son of the late Lee and Geneva Rice Blanford. After graduation he received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern and served our country in the United States Navy. He worked for several years for Carlton Company and retired from Cooper Tire. James greatly enjoyed playing golf, watching professional golf, reading, and watching old westerns. Most of all he loved being with his beloved family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Fran Chapman Blanford; son, Mike Blanford and Deborah of Leesburg, grandchildren, Noelle and Caleb; and great-grandchild, Callen.

In accordance with the wishes of Mr. Blanford no services will be held.
