Glenda Curles Hill passed away on January 3, 2026. She was born on September 9, 1939, in Cotton, Georgia, where she grew up on the family farm.
Glenda was one of eleven children born to Percy and Sadie Curles. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Ellen, Catherine, Hilda, Jennie, Buck, Margaret, Mary, Phyllis, Jerry, and Myra.
Glenda was married to her husband, Jim, for 65 years. Together, they built a loving and happy life rooted in faith and family. She treasured her immediate family and is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughters, Jennie Hill and Donna Jones (David); her granddaughters, Jennifer Martinek (James), Lisa Kimbrell (Casey), and Anna Holdridge (Zack); and her great-granddaughters, Clara Kimbrell, Charlotte Kimbrell, and Mary Grace Martinek.
Glenda built a fulfilling career at the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base, where she worked in the Personnel Services office. She took great pride in her work and spent many happy and rewarding years there.
A woman of strong faith, Glenda loved the Lord and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg. She lived a life that reflected her faith and spoke volumes to all who knew her. Glenda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she found her greatest joy in time spent with her family.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia, with Dr. Joshua Posey officiating. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Leesburg, with Dr. Joshua Posey officiating. Visitation will be held in the Family Life Center following the service.
