Glenda Eller Bass

August 6, 1951 — January 8, 2016

Mrs. Glenda Eller Bass, 64, of Albany, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, January 8, 2016. A celebration of life service was conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2016 in the chapel of Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany, GA. Rev. Allen Bingham and Bro. Mike Lawson officiated. Glenda was born on August 6, 1951 in Austin, TX, to Truett Eller and LaVonda Eller Paulk. She moved to Albany in 1954 and graduated from the first graduating class of Westover High School. In 1988 she moved to Virginia and then in 1990 she moved to Montgomery AL. She worked as a hair stylist for 24 years in Albany at LaVonda’s Hair Stylist and had a successful career in Real Estate in Montgomery for 14 years. Glenda returned to Albany in 2007 where she cherished each day she had with her beloved family. Glenda was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and The Magnolia Garden Club. Glenda was an inspiration to so many in the past few years as she kept the faith even in her time of sickness. Surely our loss is Heaven’s gain and she will be greatly missed until we meet her again. She was preceded in death by her father, Truett Eller and Luther G. “Andy” Anderson and paternal grandparents, Richard and Nancy Eller. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, John Bass; sons, Michael Gouff, Kelly Bass and wife, Summer and Jerald Bass; mother, LaVonda H. Paulk of Albany; grandmother, Geneva Dills of Hiawassee; aunt, Sue Mullinex of Hiawassee; brother, Gary Eller and wife, Debbie of Lee County; sister, Donna Johnson and husband, Chuck of Albany; sister, Sherri Canterbury of Albany; one granddaughter, Mary Margaret and several nieces and nephews. The family was at the home of her mother, LaVonda H. Paulk at 2507 Pheasant Dr. Albany, GA. 31707 and received friends following the service at the church.
