Gene Edward Shillcut, Jr.

Mr. Gene Edward Shillcutt Jr., age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at his home in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born September 17, 1945, in Albany, GA to Gene and Dorothy Shillcutt. Gene was a pilot in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge, GA.

Gene was a graduate from the University of Georgia in 1969 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and had a great love for the Georgia Bull Dawgs. He owned and operated ShillChem in Albany, GA for over 20 years

His favorite hobby was collecting antique clocks and watches. He also enjoyed repairing and tinkering with them. He loved to be on the water on a sailboat and enjoyed being a pilot while serving in the U.S. Navy.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Gene Shillcutt; and mother, Dorothy Shillcutt. He is survived by his spouse, Diane (Rhodes) Shillcutt; son, Gene Shillcutt III; daughters, Heidi Shillcutt Tucker and Stacey (Matthew) Reaves; sons, Steven (Shelley) Shillcutt and Paul (Suzie) Shillcutt; brother, Samuel (Patricia) Shillcutt; sister, Susan (Edward) Cooper; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2025, in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, GA. Military honors will be presented in honor of Gene's service to our country.
