Mr. Franklin “Frank” Collins, 84, of Albany, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Funeral services honoring his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Baggett officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. Graveside services will be conducted the following day, at 12:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Black Community Cemetery in Black, AL.
Born August 28, 1941, in Black, Alabama, he was the beloved son of the late Ben Franklin Collins and Adell Sizemore Collins. Frank was a 1959 graduate of Bethlehem High School in Bonifay, FL. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent many years as a self-employed general contractor, owning and operating Centsable Home Builders until his retirement. Frank had a passion for classic cars and took great pride in restoring them. He was also an avid sports fan. Above all else, he valued his family and treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Guidry, and his sister, Ginnie Hales.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Sheila Collins of Albany; children, Keith Collins and Lisa of Leesburg, John McQuiston and Tina of Albany, Wendy Layfield and Daniel of Leesburg, and Kelly Subedi of North Georgia; sister, Betty Ruth Paulding and Jon of Dothan, AL; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
