Evelyn Tomlinson

Mrs. Evelyn Widner Tomlinson, 87, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Chris E. Turner officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Edwin Levon “E.L.” Tomlinson at Floral Memory Gardens, Albany, GA.

Born on April 26, 1937, in Miller County, Mrs. Tomlinson was the daughter of the late Joel and Nellie Gordon Widner. She adored children and cared for many throughout the years. She retired as a school bus driver for the Dougherty County School System. Most of all she loved Jesus, her family, and her church family at Lighthouse Ministries. She enjoyed reading her Bible each day and enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by four siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gayle Seybold and Greg of Leesburg, Teresa Kunkle and Ronnie of Greenville, FL, and Charlotte Bolton of Melbourne, FL; her brother, Irving Widner and Linda of Colquitt; her sibling’s spouses, Beatrice, Jeff, Sandra, Janice, Leonard, and Pal; 8 grandchildren, Wendi Davis and Kevin, Cory Kunkle and Ashley, Jana Ault and Morgan, Matt Kunkle and Drew, Hope Williams and Caine, Maranda Beane and Geoff, Chris Kunkle and Randi, and Bryson Bolton; 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
