Elizabeth "Betty" Horace

Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Horace, 94, of Sylvester peacefully passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Albany Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist Church, 381 Fussell Rd. Leesburg, GA 31763. Pastor Nestor Amparo will officiate, and the family will visit with friends following the service at the church.

She was a loving, kind, faithful wife, mother, grandmother and loved by all. She was born in Thomasville and her last days were spent at Pruitt Health Sylvester Nursing Home. She was a member of The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ellijay, GA, Albany Fellowship Seventh-day Church, and in the Homosassa Springs Florida church as well as other locations. She and her late husband were Bible workers and they traveled and lived in different areas. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Binton Duren and Maggie Delphine Grubbs; brother, Charles Duren; husband, Clarence Horace; son, Randall Turner; daughters, Rebecca Sadler and Patricia Joyce Steward.

Her survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Judith Ann Speck (Joseph) of Phenix City, AL and Kathryn Ruth Mancill of Caryville, FL; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild.
