Mr. Douglas Joseph Joffrion, 85, of Morgan, peacefully passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at his home.

Born on January 23, 1940, in Thibodaux, LA, Doug was the son of the late Charley Joffrion and Theresa Moise Joffrion. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and worked in law enforcement in Louisiana and continued that career for a while when they moved to Albany, GA in 1970. He retired from civil service at the Marine Corps Logistics Base of Albany after 21 years of service. He loved the Lord Jesus and faithfully served Him in many areas of the church throughout the years. Doug served as youth pastor, children’s pastor, deacon, and Royal Ranger’s leader. He was a great mentor to young men and was a proud foster parent to several children. He always had a smile, was a great storyteller, and never met a stranger. He was a member of Grace City Church of Lee County and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 57 years, Pat Joffrion; children, Melanie (Stephen) Young, and Elizabeth (Cheney) Tye of Morgan; 7 grandchildren, Corey (Baylee) Young, Aleah Peavey (Naphtali James), Gabriel (Kaylee) Peavey, Abbie Peavey, Addison Young, Garrett (Jessika) Tye, and Grant (Sydney Kate) Tye; 5 great-grandchildren, Noah, Delilah, Eloise, Samuel, Olive, and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Dianne Arnold.

The family will have a time of visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the home of Cheney and Elizabeth Tye at 2973 Fountain Bridge Rd. Morgan, GA 39866.

The family will have a private service with military honors at Crown Hill Cemetery, in Albany.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Legacy Building Fund of Grace City Church.
