Diane DeFord Coley

Ms. Diane DeFord Coley, 82, of Leesburg and formerly of Dawson, peacefully passed away at the home of her sister Ruby Smith in Leesburg on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Born on April 16, 1943, in Augusta, Diane was the daughter of the late John DeFord and Carolyn Herrington Proctor. She had a servant’s heart and loved caring for others. She worked as a dedicated caregiver and always put others before herself. She spent endless hours working in her yard caring for her beautiful flowers. She was of the Pentecostal faith, loved the Lord Jesus, her family and friends more than anything. A loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed until we meet again in Heaven.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Byron Addison.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son with whom she had a special bond, Tracy L. Coley of Dawson; brother, Ray Addison and Joyce of Jackson, TN; sister, Ruby Smith of Leesburg, several nieces, nephews, and extended family that loved her.

The family would like to express special thanks to Gentiva Hospice of Americus, Terrah Cromer, Patricia Rodgers; and her sitters, Mary, Cathy, Cindy, Pam and Rita.

Arrangements for her memorial service at Life Church of Leesburg will be announced soon.
