Mrs. Clarice Tomlinson, 92, of Americus and formerly of Valdosta, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Perfect Care of Americus.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Simon Franklin will officiate with interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery, in Valdosta at 3:00 p.m.
Born on November 24, 1933, in Nicholls, Mrs. Tomlinson was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth White Minchew. She worked for many years for various factories and retired from the Valdosta City School System. She was most proud to be a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Clarice was a talented seamstress and loved sewing. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of Naylor Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tomlinson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Tomlinson and her sisters, Maxie Bennett and Betty Boyette.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tammy Porter and Don of Leesburg; grandchildren, Tori Purvis and Corey of Leesburg, Trista Reid and Joshua of Highland, Utah; great-grandchildren, Kenzlee and Kindrix Purvis of Leesburg; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mrs. Tomlinson’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring and devoted staff of Perfect Care of Americus.
