Leesburg

Mr. Alan M. “Al” Masters, 71, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Willson Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation and viewing one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Born August 19, 1954, in Cordele, Al was the son of the late Perry M. Masters and Lillian McKay Masters. He was raised in Cordele and graduated from Crisp County High School, where he met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Terry. Together they built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and lasting memories.

Al dedicated 42 years of his career to Piggly Wiggly/Bruno’s, serving as a district manager, and later worked for the past eight years as a property manager with Walden and Kirkland. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, working in the garden beside his beloved wife, spending time with his family, and traveling to his favorite place, St. George Island. Above all else, Al treasured his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. Affectionately known as “Papa,” his grandchildren brought him immense pride and happiness, and the moments shared with them were among his most cherished.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Terry Masters of Leesburg; his children, Michelle Masters (Kristin) of Columbus and Amy Masters (Chris Nobles) of Leesburg; grandchildren, Brianna Masters, Bella Masters, Brooklyn Nobles, Berklie Masters, and Brendan “Bubs” Masters; bonus grandchildren, SarahGrace Nguyen and Allie Wharton; brother, Jeff Masters (Jon Quillen) of Kentucky; sister, Linda Barnes of Tennessee; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were blessed by knowing him.

Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home has been given the honor of serving the Masters family.
