Howard W. Andrews

Mr. Howard W. Andrews, 69, of Cuthbert, passed away on June 23, 2023, at Willson Hospice House.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Cuthbert with Rev. Nathan Ziglar officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:00PM.

Mr. Andrews was born on August 12, 1953, in Cuthbert, GA to the late Graydon “Hull” and Louise West Andrews. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in animal science and plant pathology and later went to work for Top Bait & Tackle and Sporting Goods until he became ill. Mr. Andrews was an avid cyclist who started at a young age. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed scuba diving in the Keys, camping, hunting, and fishing. He dearly loved his dogs and was a friend to everyone he met. Mr. Andrews thoroughly enjoyed walking, and would walk around town, in the fields, and when he moved into the care home, he constantly walked around the facility. It is said that he would wear out a pair of shoes in a matter of weeks. Howard was Baptized at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Mr. Andrews is survived by his sister, Julia A. Moye (Ron) of Albany; his brother Charles Andrews (Monica) of Cuthbert; his nieces and nephews, Jamie Zapata, Clint Cannon, Kelly Andrews, and Zack Moye; ten great nieces and nephews; and 2 great great nephews.

Along with his parents Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by his sister Mary Louise Cannon and his brother Jason Andrews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Mr. Andrew's memory.
